How ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ Was Animated

A pretty great breakdown of the technical tweaks that were devised to introduce certain emotional elements to characters in this quite-well-made filme.

From Movies Insider. Worth a look, especially if you’re an animation nerd.

My 4,566,300,000 Year Old Ring – crafted from a Swedish Meteorite

“Showing this ring to new people really is amazing. Some people freak out completely when told this story and rightfully so. It’s freaking 20 million years older than the earth!”

That’s four point five six billion years old.

This is beautifully done. I love it. And his attitude is great too.

Assyria vs Elam: The battle of Til Tuba

Presented by British Museum curator Gareth Brereton.

“The battle of Til Tuba reliefs are among some of the great masterpieces of ancient Assyrian art. The movement and details are truly stunning. That said, the scenes actually being depicted are anything but easy on the eye.”

A really excellent description of how these pieces should be viewed in order to appreciate the history they depict. I was especially blown away by Brereton’s discussion of the sequential nature of the imagery. This is well produced and interesting.
