Happy Friday, and where I live: it’s a long weekend!
Are you ready? I’m ready! Here we go…
» Gunther Holtorf’s 23 Year Road Trip
“Back in 1989, as the Berlin Wall fell, Gunther Holtorf and his wife Christine set out on what was meant to be an 18-month tour of Africa in their Mercedes Benz G Wagon. Now, with more than 800,000km (500,000 miles) on the clock, Gunther is still going.”
This is a great little mini-documentary. Great story. This is the kind of thing I’d like to try when I get to be that age.
“An entire year, 1 driver, 1 van, plenty of hitchhikers, 1 huge country, 7 states, more than 30 thousand kilometers, 1 camera and a lot of fun.”
Beautiful.
“The twelve of us playing together, me and my twin brothers, I’m the one in the center with the baby guitar 🙂 it was good to see all the Wardis back together again.”
Joke! It’s all the same guy. Alaa Wardi has been making a bit of a name for himself in the middle east. Guy’s got talent, no question.

“Ray Gascoigne has been around boats his whole life, as a shipwright, a merchant sailor, and now as a ship builder on the smallest dry dock there is: a bottle.”
Talk about an obscure art form. I find these little documentaries fascinating.
Bonus Video:
“‘Balance’ is a short film by photographer/director Tobias Hutzler, inspired by Rigolo Swiss Nouveau Cirque artist Maedir Eugster.”
It’s mesmerizing. I like.
Have a great Friday, and a great (hopefully long) weekend.
