Well howdy, Friday!

Here goes…

» Portrait of Lotte

Portrait of Lotte

“I filmed my daughter every week, from birth up until she turned 12 years old an then made this time lapse edit in FCP.” (Final Cut Pro)
Really cleverly shot.

» Benga: I Will Never Change

Benga: I Will Never Change

Using records to visually replicate waveforms of the song = brilliant. Must have taken quite a while.

The Solar System - Explore your backyard

This is an absolutely astounding simulation of our solar system. Very impressive.

Well hello Friday how are you?

Video time!!

» Happy Birthday David

Happy Birthday David

“David” is the new android from the Weyland Corporation. In 2023.
This is one of a number of viral videos created to promote the upcoming Ridley Scott sci-fi epic Prometheus, which hits theatres on June 1st, 2012. These are all really well done.

» Sweet Brown: No time for bronchitis

Sweet Brown: No time for bronchitis

This one is making the rounds / becoming a meme.
There is (naturally) a remix video. However, oddly, it’s pretty damn good!

Really well done!

» Cycle-Skating – The New Sport of 1923

Cycle-Skating - The New Sport of 1923

I wonder how many of these people survived into old age… as opposed to breaking every bone in their body on a pair of these. Ridiculous.

» Friday the 13th Crispin Glover Dance Loop

Friday the 13th Crispin Glover Dance Loop

This was sent in too late for last week’s edition but it’s still awesome.
Ohhh Crispin Glover. Where did your mother and I go wrong…

Apr. 13th, 2012

It’s Friday the 13th everybody.

Here we go…

» Caine’s Arcade

Caine's Arcade

This one has definitely made the rounds but some of you might not have seen it. This is an awesome video.
There’s now an interview with the 9-year-old who created this fantasy arcade, and apparently he has now been given an actual pinball machine of his own for his efforts, and has also raised $100,000 from internet donations for a scholarship fund.
Stuff like this makes me love the Internets.

A Dramatic Surprise On A Quiet Square

“A sign with the text “Push to add drama” invited people to use the button. And then we waited…”
This is a video to promote TNT Belgium. Funny.

John Wood & Paul Harrison: One more kilometre

Featuring a stack of paper and a belt sander.

» Waves

“‘Waves’ utilizes a basic construction of a long piece of elastic string and two motors to visualize the presence of people close to the installation.”
Very cool…

I hope your Friday is most excellent, 13th or not.

“This week the Dutch company PAL-V announced the first flights of its prototype ‘flying car’. This unique vehicle is called the PAL-V One, or the ‘Personal Air and Land Vehicle’, and It marks the start of a new era.”
This is a real thing, despite the date of the video (April 1st.)

Bonus Video:

» androp: Bright Siren

androp: Bright Siren

A video made from sychronized Canon flashes.
Not bad at all.

Happy Friday everybody!
