Happy Friday!

It’s the last one in February. That was fast!

Heeeeere we go.

Tyler Warren – Rush’s Permanent Waves (full album performance)

Now right off the bat I know I’ve lost some people here, but this performance – these performances – are just amazing.

Tyler Warren – One guy! – recreates the entire 1979 Rush album “Permanent Waves” during his “off days” from touring with The Queen Extravanganza and Adam Lambert.

To perform just the drum parts on their own would be impressive, and Warren tours as a drummer. However here he performs everything. It’s ridiculous. There are no credits concerning recording or mixing but the whole thing sounds virtually identical to the original.

This blew my mind. Great, great work.

How do birds learn to sing?

I never really thought about it but this is a pretty interesting video. It’s also making the rounds.

YouTuber “Nukazooka” (using a crap-ton of CGI) recreates some of the effects we see in videogames like Goat Simulator.

It’s a little nuts. Funny!

a-ha – Take On Me (Dance Video) @Ghetto.Spider

Making the rounds and… wow I understand why. 🙂

Bonus Video!

That’s all the Friday Videos merriment I have for you this week. Have a great Friday and a fantastic weekend.

See you next week.

Happy Friday!

What a week. I only have four videos for you. Four is a lot though!

31 Tricks for a 31 Year Old

Shot by Thom Wall, who performs with Cirque du Soleil.

Pretty amazing.

How Overnight Shipping Works

The huge, unimaginable logistics of getting your package from A to B overnight.

I find this stuff fascinating.

Tractor Hacking: The Farmers Breaking Big Tech’s Repair Monopoly

“When it comes to repair, farmers have always been self reliant. But the modernization of tractors and other farm equipment over the past few decades has left most farmers in the dust thanks to diagnostic software that large manufacturers hold a monopoly over. ”

This is such a ridiculous, aggravating situation.

But good on the hacker farmers for figuring it out themselves.

PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games – Robot Skiing!

“Robots ski down hill in the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games showing off some of the latest in downhill skill robotic technology.”

Which… still needs some work. An oddly entertaining video.

These have been your Friday Videos.

Have a great Friday everybody. Stay safe.

Happy Friday!

What a week… I am ready for the weekend. I hope you are too.

Video time!

Photographing the Real Life of Bees

“National Geographic asked photographer Anand Varma to work on a story about honey bees. What he came up with is a work of art.”

The Pinball Doctors: The Last Arcade Technicians in NYC

“Pinball was once an American obsession. Now, the arcade classic is making a comeback, but the repair technicians skilled enough to repair these complex machines are limited.”

This kind of work gives me a pain my stomach a little bit. It’s a dying industry but there are a tiny handful of people who still know this stuff. Interesting, and a bit obsessive.

Worlds Largest Lego Wooden Roller Coaster – Passenger view – 4 rounds

Which I guess begs the question: what was the largest Lego wooden roller coaster before this one? Crazy

More info here.

Human Fountains

[self explanatory]

With no further information.

Bonus Video!

Vandal caught on camera (with play-by-play)

“On Wednesday, January 31, 2018, KIRO Radio captured surveillance footage of a vandal trying to break in to one of our employee’s vehicles in our parking lot. While the suspect is still at large, we took the liberty to have John Curley give his play-by-play of the incident.”

This is great. Also: ouch. Making the rounds already. Fantastic.

And there we go! Friday! Videos!

Here are some videos.

George Clinton & The P-Funk All Stars: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

This may be the most joyous 13 minutes of your day.

DJ Cummerbund – Jereloose

Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy” crazily mashed up with Kenny Loggins’ “Footloose” = insane.

But I like it! Some great editing here too.

Giant Cotton Candy Flower

“It took 10 minutes to make this massive, massive, massive cotton candy flower….

“Price: 50 RMB – 8 USD

“Filmed in Chongqing, China”

Ccccrrazy! Also: ow, my teeth.

Timelapse of Death Star Construction

“This is a personal project that I worked on with my brother. I enjoyed watching a little bit of Death Star assembly in Rogue One, but I wanted to see more.”

I love this era. Someone, at home, in their spare time, can create something like this. Amazing.

Bonus Video!

World’s first talking killer whale

Technically: the first “English speaking” Killer whale. But still!

Making the rounds. Amazing.

Happy Friday everybody! See you in a week.
