Well look at that! Friday! Well well… well…

And it’s the last one of October!

Well let’s get started!!

OFF

A short sci-fi student film from director Martin Nabelek

Beautifully done.

Hey speaking of space and sci-fi…

Why Is There A Moon?

A rather old (2011) video from VSauce, but highly entertaining.

Working 24 Hours Straight at New York’s Most Iconic Deli | Bon Appétit

That deli being the famous Katz’s Deli on East Houston St. in NYC. (Since 1888)

A pretty high-pressure gig. Part of a series of 24-hours-at videos Bon Appétit has made.

MAGNETS: How Do They Work?

[self explanatory]

Bonus Video!

3D Coke Sign in Times Square

[self explanatory]

Kind of cool? How long did that take to create? What did it cost? No details in this video, or description. Pretty well done though.

Sent in by Treena A., who saw it in person.

Have a great weekend everybody. Happy Hallowe’en!

Happy Friday everybody!

It is video time! 🙂

Ready? Ready!

The Escherian Stairwell

I won’t spoil it for you, but this is a great illusion.

More information here.

Audioslave “Be Yourself” a drum cover by Emily

“Hi, my name is Emily. I am 9 years old and this is my seventeenth video.”

Emily is no joke. This is a spectactular performance.

Roller Coaster India

Created by Yuribert Capetillo Hardy

“During my trip to Kolkata, India I could only think of one word: Roller Coaster.

“This film Rollercoaster is the visualization of my feelings, fears and emotions. And therefor probably not the same feelings other people will have while visiting this country.”

Very creatively edited.

The Making of Perceptual Shift

“1,252 black wood balls are used to create an illusion of an eye”

This is excellent.

Much more info here.

Bonus Video!

Iron Maiden-The Number Of The Beast (Bossa nova Version)

It kind of reminds me of this video from a few years back.

I hope you have a lovely, lovely weekend.

Happy Friday!

It is the thirteenth day of October, 2017…

and it is Friday, of course, and time for some VIDEOS!

So here we go…

The Netherlands welcomes Trump in his own words

From the Dutch TV show “Zondag met Lubach” (Sunday with Lubach) hosted and written by Arjen Lubach.

Funny!

You might also enjoy their YouTube Channel.

DJ Cummerbund – Houston & Sons

Whitney Houston + Mumford and Sons + Ke$ha + Hulk Hogan + + + + ?!?!

I’ve featured DJ Cummerbund here before. He’s still great.

Winners – Microscope Photos – 2017 Nikon Small World Contest

Mind-blowing as usual.

Lenny Calvin Creations: 3D Pumpkin Carving

This is not a new video but I had never seen it before.

Happy Friday!

Let’s get to the videos. All killer / no filler…

The Academic – Bear Claws (Live Looper Version)

“We created a first-of-its-kind Facebook Live performance of our latest single, ‘Bear Claws,’ using the audio/video time lag to create a mesmerizing visual loop sampler.”

This is, frankly, brilliant. And sort of mesmerizing.

TEENY WEENY CHALLENGE – How Small Can I Draw?!

Illustrator Kasey Golden draws the same image on smaller and smaller pieces of paper.

And I do mean smaller! Crazy.

CineFix: Top 10 Cinematographers of All Time

A really great collection, although I think their wish to cover the breadth of cinema history means we don’t see Vittorio Storaro, Michael Ballhaus, or Vilmos Zsigmund on this list. (Or Tak Fujimoto!)

Note my 70s-80s bias. 🙂

But still! Wonderful collection.

Wara Art 2017 Time-lapse

These are large-size sculptures made out of rice straw. The Wara Art Festival takes place every November in the Niigata Prefecture in Japan.

Much more information here.

And specifically more info on the Wara Art Festival here.

Bonus Video!

Blue Thinks the Moon is a Ball

Blue is a dog.

This video is everything this week.

I hope your Friday is fantastic, unlike much of the previous portion of this week.

Happy Friday, and have a great (long?) weekend.
