Another Friday, another set of videos to tell you about…

Let’s begin!

D. Masleev: Kapustin – Concert Etude No3 “Toccatina”

This is Dmitri Masleev performing an intricate étude composed by 20th century Russian / Ukranian composer Nikolai Kapustin.

If you close your eyes it sounds like it might have been programmed, but it’s not. Just a great, great performance.

The Life Of Pitti Peacocks

“Pitti Uomo is a four day long menswear trade- show, in Florence Italy”

Vimeo user Aaron Christian decided to add voice-over audio from Richard Attenborough to video of this event.

Enjoy!

MB14 – Gangsta’s Paradise

YouTuber MB14 performs a segment of Gangsta’s Paradise using nothing but his voice and a loop recorder. This was performed at the Grand Beat Box Battle in Basel, Switzerland in 2015. You can see more of the actual “battle” here. Great stuff!

Auto

“Cars dance on highways, crowds of people wash across sidewalk shores.”

A decidedly arty film, but I found it interesting.

Bonus Video!

Doom 2 – Seinfeld: Jerry’s Apartment

Somebody made their own level of Doom that replicates the apartment in Seinfeld.

…But why?

Happy last Friday of Spring.

And now: some videos…

Justin Bieber: What Do You Mean It’s 1985?

YouTuber and remixer TRONICBOX transforms the Bieb’s “What Do You Mean” to an end-of-action-film 1980’s ballad in stunning form.

It’s making the rounds and it is kind of amazing.

The Real Life Game of Thrones Part 2: The Wars of the Roses

Yes, there is a part 1 (“Is Great Britain Westeros?”.) These are really well-researched videos. Maybe a little dry but I like it.

2016 AICP Sponsor Reel – Dir Cut

That title does this video zero justice. (AICP = Association of Independent Commercial Producers) This is a series of dancers that have been motion captured and their performances mapped to a variety of wildly odd 3d models. (A person made out of balloons?! Okay!) This was produced by the NYC studio Method Studios.

6 Impromptu Magic Tricks Anyone Can Do

[self explanatory]

Some good ones in here!

Bonus Video!

Baby elephant play with everything they see

Awesome.

Also: did you know elephants know how to get drunk on their own? I didn’t know that until this week.

Enjoy the rest of your pre-Summer Friday.

See you next week.

Hello Friday. Howya doin’?

Video time!

Fuel

“Here is a funny 3D animated short with hilarious character design called “Fuel”, about two skilled mechanics that are trying to install a brand new engine in a car, but as you’ll see, nothing will happen as planned! Created by the talented Camille Jalabert”

Well done.

#NYCDFF 2016 Montage

“The following footage was culled from the official selections of the 2016 New York City Drone Film Festival. All footage was shot using drones.”

Yes: there is now a drone film fest. 2016!!

There are some gorgeous shots in this short little clip.

Port of Amsterdam – SAIL 2015

Much more info available here. 600 ships! Yikes.

sky garden // havai bahçe

“Sky Garden is a suspended garden in Ortaköy Square.” (In Istanbul, Turkey.)

I found this interesting.

Bonus Video!

World Hip Hop Classic’s #7 – Mr. Tape 1991

This footage from 1991 shows a mix master using open reel tape machines instead of records to create beats.

Odd, but pretty well done.

And that’s just about all I’ve got. 🙂

Happy Friday, Friday Fans! See you in a week. Enjoy your weekend.

Friday. June! Hot (where I am.)

That’s a trifecta!

But wait! There are videos!

Here we go…

NEW PUPPET CONCEPT

Youtuber barnabydixon creates and deftly coreographs a really lovely hand puppet. Very talented. It’s making the rounds but it’s certainly worth more views for sure.

Pong Project

Daniel Perdomo decided to build a physical, mechanical version of the retro videogame Pong, and the results are extremely impressive. He has a lot of comments from people wanting to buy one. Amazing.

Making the rounds. Worth it.

Hiking Kjerag Rocks

This is drone footage of several friends base-jumping cliffs in “Kjerag, located in the far en of the 44km long Lysefjord in Forsand, Norway.”

Well done. May not be for the faint of heart. (Heights) Wow.

Florence + The Machine sings with Hospice Austin teen

Just fantastic.

The non-profit Hospice Austin put this together. You should probably donate to them.

Bonus Video!

Flying eagle point of view #1

[self explanatory]

Note: Heights. Again. It’s only a minute and a half but it is worth every second.

Now go on, It’s Friday out there! 🙂

See you next week!
